Job Summary

The Data Connect Functional Analyst serves as the primary liaison among application teams, business stakeholders, platform engineering, production support, and Data Connect product management. The analyst translates data integration needs into clear functional requirements and coordinates delivery from intake through implementation and operational handoff.

Business & Functional Analysis

• Lead discovery sessions with application teams, product owners, technology partners, and business stakeholders to define data integration needs.
• Create and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and supporting analysis.
• Translate business outcomes into actionable backlog items with clear scope, dependencies, assumptions, and validation criteria.
• Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, backlog refinement, prioritization discussions, and solution alignment sessions.
• Partner with technical teams to clarify requirements throughout design, development, testing, and implementation.

Application Onboarding & Platform Enablement

• Coordinate onboarding of applications and data consumers to the Data Connect platform from initial intake through operational readiness.
• Guide stakeholders through datasource, feed, flow, access, scheduling, notification, and environment requirements.
• Help application teams align proposed solutions with platform standards, supported patterns, controls, and implementation expectations.
• Maintain onboarding materials, user guides, process documentation, FAQs, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate with platform specialists to resolve onboarding questions and identify decisions requiring product or engineering input.

Product Intake, Backlog & Release Coordination

• Manage feature and enhancement intake in partnership with application leads and Data Connect stakeholders.
• Keep JIRA items current, complete, and ready for estimation, prioritization, development, testing, and release planning.
• Support release candidate development using prioritized backlogs, production issues, enterprise mandates, strategic roadmap items, funding, business commitments, impact, dependencies, and downstream considerations.
• Track milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, testing status, change readiness, and implementation activities.
• Prepare concise status updates, decision materials, and release communications for delivery teams and leadership.

Testing, Production Support & Issue Management

• Define business validation needs and coordinate system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage, and sign-off activities.
• Partner with engineering and production support teams to triage flow failures, access concerns, datasource issues, scheduling behavior, performance concerns, and service disruptions.
• Collect evidence, document business impact, track ownership, and communicate status, root cause findings, remediation plans, and closure.
• Ensure defects, production issues, and follow-up actions are reflected in the appropriate backlog and governance processes.
• Support operational readiness reviews, release instructions, deployment communications, and post-implementation follow-up.

Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement

• Serve as a dependable point of coordination between Data Connect teams and consuming applications.
• Lead recurring working sessions, intake reviews, requirement walkthroughs, status discussions, and issue-resolution meetings.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve intake, documentation, platform adoption, delivery transparency, and user experience.
• Promote disciplined documentation, timely closure of open items, and shared accountability across teams.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, product analysis, data management, or technology delivery.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and producing business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data integration, data movement, data warehousing, and relational database concepts.
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, backlog management, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience coordinating testing, defect management, release readiness, and implementation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, surface risks, and maintain clear ownership and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate complex data and technology topics in business-friendly language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise data integration or orchestration platform.
• Experience supporting Treasury, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Data Governance initiatives.
• Familiarity with SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Familiarity with ETL, Informatica, Oracle or Oracle Exadata, Hadoop, Spark, APIs, data lineage, data quality, monitoring, and orchestration concepts.
• Exposure to Autosys, Airflow, CI/CD processes, Ansible, Jenkins, Python, or related delivery tools.
• Experience supporting enterprise platform modernization, production controls, retention, archival, or operational readiness activities.
