Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to serve as the primary liaison among application teams, business stakeholders, and product management in a regulated environment. You will translate data integration needs into clear requirements and coordinate delivery from intake through implementation and handoff.

The role requires 7+ years in business/functional analysis, data management, and experience with Agile, JIRA, and Confluence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, or data delivery.
• Experience gathering requirements and producing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and use cases.
• Knowledge of enterprise data integration, data movement, and data warehousing.
• Experience with Agile, JIRA, Confluence, backlog management, and SDLC practices.
• Experience coordinating testing, defect management, release readiness, and implementations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, and communicate complex topics simply.

Location: Onsite 3 days a wk; Hybrid – Office location is Jersey City NJ

Required Pay Scale: $50-55hr W2

Position Summary

The Functional Analyst serves as the primary liaison among application teams, business stakeholders, platform engineering, production support, and product management. The analyst translates data integration needs into clear functional requirements and coordinates delivery from intake through implementation and operational handoff.

This role leads application onboarding, requirements analysis, backlog readiness, testing coordination, release planning, stakeholder communication, and production issue follow-up. The successful candidate combines strong functional analysis skills with practical knowledge of enterprise data integration, data warehousing, and technology delivery in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Lead discovery sessions with application teams, product owners, technology partners, and business stakeholders to define data integration needs.
• Create and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and supporting analysis.
• Translate business outcomes into actionable backlog items with clear scope, dependencies, assumptions, and validation criteria.
• Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, backlog refinement, prioritization discussions, and solution alignment sessions.
• Partner with technical teams to clarify requirements throughout design, development, testing, and implementation.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, product analysis, data management, or technology delivery.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and producing business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data integration, data movement, data warehousing, and relational database concepts.
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, backlog management, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience coordinating testing, defect management, release readiness, and implementation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, surface risks, and maintain clear ownership and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate complex data and technology topics in business-friendly language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise data integration or orchestration platform.
• Experience supporting Treasury, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Data Governance, or CFO Data Management initiatives.
• Familiarity with SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Familiarity with ETL, Informatica, Oracle or Oracle Exadata, Hadoop, Spark, APIs, data lineage, data quality, monitoring, and orchestration concepts.
• Exposure to Autosys, Airflow, CI/CD processes, Ansible, Jenkins, Python, or related delivery tools.
• Experience supporting enterprise platform modernization, production controls, retention, archival, or operational readiness activities.
