Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Data Analyst in Charlotte, NC (hybrid 2 days a week in NYC) to support regulatory reporting. The role focuses on data validation, root-cause analysis, and mentoring junior staff within the Regulatory Operations squad.

You will work with complex data lineages, communicate findings to business and regulators, and contribute to automated validation workflows. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s in a quantitative field and strong SQL skills.

Contract Length: 18 months

Seeking a Mid-to-Senior Data Analyst to join our Regulatory Operations squad as a first line of defense for regulatory reporting deliverables. In this role, you will perform deep-dive data validation, investigate reporting discrepancies, identify root causes of data errors, and help mentor junior squad members. You must be comfortable working with complex data lineages and capable of communicating technical findings to business, risk, and regulatory stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Audit and validate regulatory reporting submissions to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Perform root-cause analysis on data discrepancies or rejected reports using advanced SQL queries.
• Translate complex technical data errors into clear, non-technical explanations for business owners, compliance teams, and regulators.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual validation workflows using basic scripting and tooling.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to build squad capability and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• SQL Expertise: Advanced SQL capability (subqueries, CTEs, complex outer/inner joins, query logic optimization across databases like Postgres/Oracle).
• Data Profiling & Analysis: Proven ability to investigate complex datasets, perform data validation, and troubleshoot data quality anomalies.
• Stakeholder Communication: Outstanding ability to tailor technical insights into clear, actionable business communication for non-technical teams.
• Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a proactive, curious approach to navigating legacy and historical datasets.
• Location: Must be locally based in Charlotte, NC or New York, NY.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing basic Python scripts for task or workflow automation.
• Understanding of cloud database environments (AWS RDS/Postgres).
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas, normalization/denormalization).
• Exposure to BI and reporting tools (Power BI or Tableau).
