Job summary

Dwight Veterinary Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for our clients and their pets. This role blends administrative precision with warmth across diverse interactions, including emotionally sensitive situations such as end-of-life discussions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software; Cornerstone, Avimark, ImproMed, eVetPractice, or ezyVet preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling, multi-line phone management, medical records, and payments.
• Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details.
• Answer multi-line telephone system, scheduling, prescriptions, vaccination records, and general info.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Communicate medical information compassionately, including end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain EMR and data entry in the practice management system (PIMS).
• Coordinate with veterinarians and staff to relay client communications and manage patient flow.
• Maintain reception area and waiting room cleanliness and organization.
