Job summary

St. Mary's Credit Union is hiring a full-time Teller at our Northboro Road Branch in Marlborough, MA. No prior banking experience required.

The teller serves as the first point of contact, handling deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and more while delivering outstanding member service and promoting credit union products. The position requires accuracy, strong customer service, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six to twelve months of teller or customer service experience or equivalent cash handling experience.
• Solid mathematical skills for counting cash.
• Effective organizational and communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to utilize various types of office equipment including computer terminals and software.

Responsibilities

• Represent SMCU to members in a courteous and professional manner while providing accurate service with transaction processing.
• Inspect all checks, bonds, negotiable instruments, and withdrawal requests and verify customer identity.
• Process and handle cash, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
• Responsible for secure handling of cash, balancing cash drawer, and reporting discrepancies.
• Adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures for transaction processing.
• Engage with members to offer targeted product solutions and cross-sell services.
• Provide service while processing inquiries accurately and efficiently.
• Support branch opening/closing procedures and participate in team efforts.
