The Teller serves as the first point of contact for members, handling a variety of financial transactions and promoting credit union products. A strong focus on service, accuracy, and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Six to twelve months of teller or customer service experience or cash handling experience.
• Solid mathematical skills for counting cash.
• Effective organizational and communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to use office equipment and computer terminals.

Responsibilities

• Represent SMCU to members with courteous, professional service.
• Process cash, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
• Inspect checks and verify customer identity for negotiability.
• Balance cash drawer and report discrepancies.
• Adhere to banking regulations and internal policies.
• Cross-sell and refer products to members.
• Assist with opening/closing branch and vault procedures.
• Collaborate with fraud and security teams as needed.
