Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab at The Pines Healthcare Center in Canton, OH is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house team. This full-time role supports residents through therapy, with opportunities to treat at multiple locations and participate in interdisciplinary care.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a state license (valid or pending).

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's and/or a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen residents' medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems; administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to rehab team, and participate in family meetings/education.
