Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Patient Placement unit. The role involves direct patient care, using the nursing process, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting.

Expect 36 hours per week, 0600-1800 shifts, three days per week with an every-third-weekend rotation. Requires a state RN license and BLS; BSN preferred and CNA experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state or single-state privileges.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed based on specialty.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Knowledge of the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families across the continuum.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies safely according to clinical protocols.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area to meet patient needs.
