Job summary

Lifeworks, Inc. is hiring a full-time Assistant Teacher/Counselor (Residential Counselor) to support adults with ID/DD in our residential programs in Norwood, MA. You will work as part of a compassionate team delivering hands-on care, education, and advocacy to help residents live engaged and meaningful lives.

Required: high school diploma or GED, experience with ID/DD, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass all background checks. MAP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with ID/DD populations
• Requires high school diploma/GED
• Must pass background checks and have a valid driver’s license
• MAP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Promotes health through routine and emergency care
• Assists with hands-on care including showering and daily living tasks
• Ensures safe residential environments
• Provides education, counseling, and ISP-related support
• Develops and presents ISP goals and assessments
• Provides transportation to individuals as needed
• Maintains confidential files and completes documentation
• Communicates with families, guardians, and staff

Skills

Experience with ID/DD

Excellent verbal and written comms

Valid Driver's License

MAP certification (preferred)
