Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in New York is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a Skilled Nursing Facility. This role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program and a current NY PTA license, with SNF or geriatric care experience preferred.

New graduates are encouraged to apply and join a supportive rehab team. The PTA will follow the supervising PT's plan of care, document progress, and assist residents with therapeutic exercises and techniques while maintaining

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with therapies such as stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.
