Job Title: Grocery Associate
This is a full-time position. The primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create an incredible place to work and shop.
Responsibilities include processing, packaging, and stocking produce products according to standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. The role may also include duties of a floral clerk when assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Personal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in and complete required training, working with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and correspondence in English; ability to communicate effectively in small group settings.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction, including handling money and weight measurements.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions and solve problems involving standard variables.
- Certificates and Licenses: Completion of company training programs including orientation, food sanitation, safety, and product knowledge.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; lift/move up to 60 pounds; reach heights of 6-72 inches; and possess close vision, color, and depth perception.
- Work Environment: Constantly in a cool environment (55-60°F), frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals; occasionally exposed to cold, loud noises, and other environmental factors.
