Ascension Catholic School in Minneapolis is seeking a full-time Assistant Preschool Teacher for our Early Childhood Learning Center. Under the supervision of the Lead Preschool Teacher and the Director of Early Childhood Learning, you will assist with preparing lessons, supporting students, and maintaining a safe, organized classroom.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an early childhood education or related degree program.
• Experience working with young children, through volunteer work or paid employment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with families.
• Knowledge of pre-kindergarten educational practices and techniques.
• Willingness to learn technology skills as required by the position.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher with preparing and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities
• Support students during lessons, small group activities, and playtime to promote development
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment; communicate with staff and families
• Learn technology skills as required by the position
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lead Preschool Teacher or Principal
