Job summary

Ascension Catholic Academy's Early Childhood Learning Centers are seeking a part-time or full-time Assistant Preschool Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and create a nurturing Catholic-learning environment in Minneapolis.

Responsibilities include preparing lessons, assisting with activities, maintaining a safe classroom, communicating with families, and participating in events. Must be enrolled in early childhood education and passionate about working with young children.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an early childhood education or related degree program.
• Experience working with young children, via volunteer work or paid work.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with families.
• Knowledge of pre-kindergarten educational practices and techniques.
• Willingness to learn technology skills as required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher with preparing and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Support students during lessons, small group activities, and playtime to promote development.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment; communicate with staff and families.
• Learn technology skills as required by the position.
