Job summary

Onni Group is seeking a part-time prep cook to support daily kitchen operations in Seattle. You will prepare and portion ingredients, label and store food properly, and assist cooks with mise en place and safety protocols.

Ideal candidates bring kitchen experience, food safety knowledge, and a willingness to learn. The role requires evening/weekend availability and physical stamina to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or prep experience required.
• Basic understanding of food safety and knife handling.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on your feet for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one).
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients (chopping vegetables, cutting meats, making sauces, etc.).
• Label, date, and store food properly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Assist cooks and chefs with daily prep tasks and mise en place.
• Keep prep stations clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Support with closing and cleaning duties as needed.
