Job summary

Millennium Health is seeking a Full Time Specimen Collector Phlebotomist in Bon Air, VA. The role involves collecting blood, urine and oral fluid, processing specimens, and serving as the liaison between clinicians and the laboratory.

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with patient-centered care. Ideal candidates are certified phlebotomists with 1+ year field experience or 6+ months as a specimen collector and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year field experience.
• 6+ months as specimen collector or 1+ year in medical field supporting patients.
• 2+ years of customer service experience can substitute medical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smartphone and computer.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Medical insurance/billing familiarity a plus; medication/diagnostic codes helpful.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as intermediary between practice/clinic and laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens.
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required.
