Job summary

River Valley Family Health Centers in Delta, Colorado seeks a Medication Refill Specialist to join our clinic, full-time, 40 hours per week. The role involves handling patient refill requests, coordinating with providers, and managing prior authorizations.

You'll promote services like pharmacy and the 340B program, educate patients, and support families. Qualifications include a High School Diploma, technician program, or LPN/Pharmacy Technician cert; BLS; travel between clinics; bilingual

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved educational program for LPN, Medical Assistant, or Pharmacy Technician.
• Active LPN or Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred, or ability to obtain Provisional Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification prior to hire with a full and active certification within 18 months of hire.
• At least one year of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to travel between clinics as needed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Being the point of contact for patients regarding their prescription medication refill needs. Refilling prescriptions through provider, patient, or pharmacy requests.
• Obtaining prior authorization of medications from the patient’s insurance company.
• Coordination of pharmaceutical representatives for drug samples, patient assistance, and learning opportunities.
• Encouraging and promoting River Valley services related to medications, such as the pharmacy and the 340B program.
• Providing health related education and delivery of compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and their families, including how to take medications correctly, how to get refills, and coordination of follow-up appointments for refills.
