Job summary

Sugardale Foods, Inc. in Canton, Ohio is hiring a 1st shift Security Guard to patrol our Fresh Mark facility and maintain a safe, secure environment.

The role requires vigilance, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills to interact with visitors and staff, with duties including monitoring entries, responding to alarms, and writing daily activity reports. The successful candidate will be physically capable, hold a valid Ohio driver’s license, and be available for all shifts including weekends

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with no restrictions.
• Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
• Work Authorization: legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Patrol industrial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Apprehend trespassers and remove people who violate the rules or cause disturbances.
• Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Contact emergency services in cases such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours.
• Conduct random checks of individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into or out of restricted areas.
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
• Authorize and check in trucks. Also, check trucks leaving premises.
• Transport employees as needed
