Job summary

Colonial Parking Inc in Arlington, VA is hiring a Parking Attendant to handle payments, issue tickets, and provide friendly customer service at the entrance/exit of the parking facility.

The role requires accurate cash handling, basic math, and strong communication. A high school diploma and 1 year of related experience are preferred. You will work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain a clean, safe booth for customers.

Qualifications

• High school degree is required.
• One year related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend verbal instructions and written correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through written correspondence.
• Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to safely drive a standard or automatic transmission vehicle.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with other employees and the parking customer.
• Ability to provide customer resolution in a professional and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Verify cash at the start of each shift and ensure necessary supplies.
• Issue tickets to customers and record required information.
• Park and retrieve customer vehicles safely and promptly.
• Receive payments via cash, credit card, or validation while securing cash per SOP.
• Process exception transactions (e.g., lost tickets) per policy.
• Provide the correct change and issue receipts for all fee transactions.
• Complete daily shift paperwork with transaction counts and vehicle tallies.
• Maintain a neat cashier booth and clean windows; no unapproved postings.
• Greet customers, answer questions, resolve issues, and relay claim reports to the Claims Department with assistance from the Shift Manager.
• Notify management of any situation needing attention.
• Review and acknowledge company policies and procedures as requested.
