Position Details

Rate: Pay Grade: C – $17.6382/hour ($36,687 annually) to $27.7171/hour ($57,652 annually). The starting salary depends on experience and education.

Location: Penitentiary Glen Reservation, Kirtland, OH 44094

Position Description

Under the supervision of the Regional Park Buildings and Grounds Manager, the Park Maintenance Specialist is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, ensuring safety and the overall condition of park facilities, grounds, and natural areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Mowing, landscaping, and snow removal in winter.
• Custodial tasks such as cleaning facilities and restrooms, and maintaining supplies.
• Performing construction, painting, electrical, and plumbing projects.
• Troubleshooting and repairing buildings and amenities.
• Trail maintenance, tree removal assistance, and constructing park amenities.
• Operating and maintaining equipment.
• Ordering and managing supplies.
• Supporting setup and cleanup for events and programs.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of maintenance experience preferred.

Requirements

• Knowledge of maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, and mechanical skills.
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely.
• Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and electrical work.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible working hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
