Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is accepting applications for General Laborers to join our team across various sites in the Richmond, VA area. This is a full-time, year-round position involving outdoor work, assisting crews with manual tasks and supporting construction projects.

Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons, able to lift and perform physical tasks, and ready to wear PPE. Compensation is hourly with benefits including health, 401(k) and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Communicate effectively with operators, workers and pedestrians.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces with PPE.
• Lift, push, pull and bend repeatedly in a construction setting.
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Flagging and traffic control tasks as assigned.
• Site cleaning, trenching, and debris removal.
• Install erosion/sediment controls (e.g., silt fence).
• Perform manual labor to support projects.
