Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company is accepting applications for General Laborers to join our team. This role involves performing flagging, site preparation, trench work, erosion controls and general labor across multiple sites in the region.

The position is full-time, year-round with start times around 6:00–7:00 AM, potential overtime, nights and weekends. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K with Company Match and Company Contribution, Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays.

Qualifications

• Work outdoors in all seasons.
• Communicate with operators, workers and pedestrians.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces with safety equipment.
• Lift, push, pull, bend, twist, reach, kneel, crawl, climb regularly.
• Use hand and power tools with safety.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform flagging, traffic closures and related tasks.
• Prepare sites, dig trenches, install braces for excavations, clean up debris.
• Install erosion and sediment controls (silt fences, gutter guards, etc.).
• Willing to perform manual labor to support projects.
• Wear safety toe boots, long pants, and PPE as required.
• Work on a variety of tasks within any given day.
• Ensure Shirley's health and safety culture and policies are followed.
• Establish positive working relationships with customers and co-workers.
