Job summary

Proliance Surgeons is seeking an Authorization and Benefits Specialist to manage on-site accounts receivable and ensure timely prior authorizations for procedures. The role requires medical authorization skills and strong customer service.

The position is full-time and on-site at the Renton, WA clinic, with a Monday–Friday schedule and standard business hours. Experience with Medicare and insurance networks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 yrs of prior authorization and benefits experience, ideally in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process medical prior authorizations for surgical procedures by reviewing insurance and submitting information needed for coverage.
• Triage calls and requests from providers and patients for authorization of services; provide status updates.
• Communicate with patients, clinic staff, and outside vendors via phone or written documentation and respond to inquiries.
• Verify and document insurance information per current practices.
• Post payments received from patients and insurers accurately.
• Review explanations of benefits, research denials, and address reductions.
• Prepare and submit claims to third party carriers electronically or by mail.
• Make outbound and inbound calls to follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and document actions.
