Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN II for a full-time night shift (7p to 7a). This experienced nurse provides professional nursing care, conducts assessments, assists with exams and treatments, educates patients, and maintains medical records.

The RN II collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional team to deliver high-quality care, responds to emergencies, mentors students or new staff, and may lead unit initiatives under supervision.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• RN licensure in Texas with permanent license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) and NIH Stroke Scale certification within 4 months.
• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and patient assessments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Lead unit initiatives and serve as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees.
• Maintain accurate medical records and provide patient education.
