Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse II for a full-time night shift (7p–7a) in high-acuity units. The RN II provides professional nursing care, conducts assessments, assists with exams and treatments, educates patients, and maintains medical records while coordinating with physicians and an interprofessional team.

Ideal candidates have twelve months of RN experience, Texas licensure, BLS, and ACLS, with leadership experience such as charge nurse or preceptor being a plus.

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare environment
• Texas RN licensure within 60 days if establishing Texas residency
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) within 4 months

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Conduct nursing assessments and assist with exams and treatment
• Educate patients and maintain medical records
• Communicate with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care
• Lead unit activities; may serve as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new staff
