Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, AL is hiring an LPN for our General Medicine unit. The LPN provides and documents individualized patient care including evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments and patient safety under the direction of the RN or provider.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license in the State of Alabama renewed every two years.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills.
• Communicates patient condition to RN and healthcare team.
• Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data and education per guidelines.
• Performs triage and determines next steps in care with the team.
• Administers oral and injectable medications per LPN scope.
• Maintains a safe, caring environment for patient and family.
• Keeps informed about policy changes and equipment updates.
• Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.
• Adheres to patient rights and regulatory standards.
