Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-driven Medical Assistant for our Kent Health Center, full-time (37.5 hours/week). The role supports patients with compassionate clinical care, education, and administrative tasks to keep visits efficient.

The ideal candidate has CMA credentials or completed MA training, strong communication, and a commitment to respectful, nonjudgmental patient service in reproductive healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an advanced medical assistant training program or CMA credential required.
• Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, judgment, and organizational skills required.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Some Saturdays may be required.
• Strong commitment to quality reproductive healthcare and patient service.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and clinical support, including vitals, preparing for exams, and assisting clinicians during procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and approved waived lab tests.
• Administer medications within training or licensure scope.
• Educate patients about services, contraception options, funding resources, and follow-up needs.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, cleanliness, and safety.
• Handle scheduling, registrations, records, and billing information using electronic systems.
• Collaborate with clinicians and team to ensure coordinated patient care and HIPAA compliance.
