Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC) to join its Facilities and Operations Division. The role is on the main campus, with shifts Any.

You will perform maintenance, repair, and rounds on HVAC systems, boilers, and related equipment to keep campus facilities safe and functional. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of related experience; preferred are HVAC credentials and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and orderly engineering spaces and logs.
  • Adjust thermostats and control systems for proper operation.
  • Assist in renovations, moves, and campus projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate maintenance and custodial staff as directed by supervisor.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and service interruptions.

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full‑Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC) position in the Facilities and Operations Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Shift: Any (United States of America)

Compensation Details: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 ANNUALLY

Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair work in relation to the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, boilers, building equipment, and furnishings.
  • Conducts daily rounds of critical equipment and rooms throughout the campus and reports problems to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Facilities Director.
  • Always maintains all engineering and electrical spaces in a clean and neat manner.
  • Makes daily checks of and adjustments of thermostats, receiver controllers, control! er sensors, automatic control panels, and other related equipment for proper operation.
  • Assists in renovation projects as assigned.
  • Participates in the repair and maintenance of college equipment and vehicles.
  • Uses and maintains a variety of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintains required records and logs.
  • Assists in moves and event setups throughout the campus as assigned and directed.
  • Installs, maintains, or repairs electrical systems and associated hardware.
  • Installs, maintains repairs and renovates plumbing hardware.
  • Assists with carpentry projects.
  • Participating in ground maintenance activities, including installing and maintaining landscaping, and maintaining parking lots.
  • Coordinates the work of maintenance and custodial staff as directed by supervisor.
  • Responds to emergency requests for repairs; and Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities & Operations Leadership Team.

  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and practices of building and grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC system maintenance and repair.
  • Skills in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push and carry heavy items.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply construction plans, specifications and blueprints.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess and demonstrate a high school diploma or equivalent AND One (1) or more years of related work experience.
  • A high school degree or GED *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade (electrical, carpentry, plumbing) or building maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference may be considered for candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:
  • Two (2) or more years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Must HVAC License and/or Certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
