Atlanta Technical College is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC) to join the Facilities and Operations Division on the main campus, just south of downtown Atlanta. The role oversees HVAC maintenance, building systems, and campus equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Strong troubleshooting, safety, and communication skills are essential for daily operations and emergency repairs. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and requires a high school diploma

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of related work experience.
  • Preferred: two or more years as a Maintenance Technician.
  • HVAC license or certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, boilers, building equipment and furnishings.
  • Conduct daily rounds of critical equipment and report problems.
  • Maintain engineering spaces and ensure clean, neat conditions.
  • Adjust thermostats and control panels for proper operation.
  • Assist with renovations, equipment maintenance, and vehicle upkeep.
  • Use and maintain tools and records; coordinate with staff on campus tasks.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and support grounds maintenance.

Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC) position in the Facilities and Operations Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Full-Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC) is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of the college’s facilities and grounds to include:

  • Performsawidevarietyofmaintenance andrepairworkinrelationtotheinstallation,maintenance,andrepairofHVACequipment,boilers,buildingequipment,andfurnishings.
  • ConductsdailyroundsofcriticalequipmentandroomsthroughoutthecampusandreportsproblemstotheMaintenanceSupervisorand/orFacilitiesDirector.
  • Always maintains all engineering and electrical spaces in a clean and neat manner.
  • Makesdailychecksofandadjustmentsofthermostats,receivercontrollers,control!ersensors,automaticcontrolpanels,andotherrelatedequipmentforproperoperation.
  • Assistsinrenovationprojectsasassigned.
  • Participatesintherepairandmaintenanceofcollegeequipmentandvehicles.
  • Usesandmaintainsavarietyoftools,materials,andequipment.
  • Maintainsrequiredrecordsandlogs.

  • Installs,maintains,orrepairselectricalsystemsandassociatedhardware.
  • Installs,maintainsrepairsandrenovatesplumbinghardware.
  • Assistswithcarpentryprojects.
  • Participatingingroundmaintenanceactivities,includinginstallingandmaintaininglandscaping,andmaintainingparkinglots.
  • Coordinatestheworkofmaintenanceandcustodialstaffasdirectedbysupervisor.
  • Respondstoemergencyrequestsforrepairs; and
  • PerformsotherdutiesasassignedbytheFacilities & Operations LeadershipTeam.

Minimum Qualifications** :**

Mustpossessanddemonstrateahigh school diploma or equivalent AND One**(1)**or moreyearsofrelatedworkexperience.

PreferredQualifications** :**

Preference may be considered for candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Two**(2)**or moreyearsofexperience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Must HVAC License and/or Certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
