Job Objective:

Supports management with product sales and acquisition; store maintenance and appearance; customer development and retention; and banking and record-keeping procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Proficiently uses the cash register and assists others with basic register problem-solving.
2. Implements store opening and closing procedures as assigned. Supports management with banking and reporting procedures.
3. Handles cash procedures for register opening and closing, makes bank runs, and handles daily deposits.
4. Reports store product acquisition, production, and sales as requested.
5. Supports strategies to meet product acquisition, production, and sales goals. Knows the goals for the day and the product rotation process, ensuring products are turned over diligently.
6. Communicates with the central warehouse to place orders for the next day's processing when assigned. Supports store maintenance and appearance by following procedures for maintenance and safety concerns.
7. Ensures displays and floor layouts are followed and updated. Looks for ways to improve store appearance and appeal to customers.
8. Supports management in creating a positive shopping experience with excellent customer service and handles customer complaints as needed.
9. Maintains communication with store management regarding all operations, incidents, and concerns when not in the store.
10. Supports management in promoting understanding of policies and procedures. Reports complaints and criticism to management.
11. Supports resource protection by implementing product control procedures to prevent theft or spoilage and controlling waste of property, utilities, and supplies.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the manager or assistant manager.
