The Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard, WA is hiring a Full-Time Food Service Worker. The role involves distributing and serving meals, following therapeutic diets, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining areas on site.

The schedule is 5:30am to 2:00pm, Sunday through Thursday, with on-site duties and no telework. Responsibilities include basic food preparation, portion control, safety temperatures, and sanitation.

Qualificações

• Current, Valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
• Has dependability, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in the English language and able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to make simple arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work productively with staff and residents from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Has basic computer-use competency.

Responsabilidades

• Distribute food in a safe and sanitary manner and meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Portion and dish-up foods following serving guides and recipes.
• Maintain safe serving temperatures and monitor for quality.
• Clean and cut vegetables, fruit, bread, and meat items.
• Weigh and measure ingredients per recipes; finish menu items.
• Assist with basic food prep such as coffee, toast, and cereals.
• Support grilling of foods (pancakes, eggs, meats).
• Ensure food storage items are readily available for meal prep.
• Perform ongoing sanitation of work areas and equipment.
