Job summary

Splendido is a Life Plan Community in Oro Valley, AZ, seeking a full-time Utility Steward to support the Food and Beverage Department by maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and back-of-house areas, including dishwashing of china, glassware, flatware.

This safety-sensitive position requires weeknight, weekend, and holiday availability and offers varied shifts to support dining operations and overall culinary excellence.

Qualifications

• Understand, retain and apply basic instructions to perform routine tasks with limited supervision.
• Read and interpret work-related documents, including MSDS and labels.
• Able to perform strenuous physical labor, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Reliable, predictable, and punctual to provide timely service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, supplies, pots/pans, small wares, china, glass, and silver according to established safety standards and regulations.
• Operate dishwasher and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Cleans kitchen floors following standard procedures.
• Applies knowledge of safe use and storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Maintains and records data on required logs per company policies and procedures.
• Completes daily and weekly cleaning assignments per task lists.
• Regularly empties trash containers; shifts and cleans garbage cans; properly operates compactor.
• Minimizes loss and breakage through proper use, cleaning and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner and on a schedule determined by kitchen and dining operations.
• Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
