Lake Superior Academy in Michigan is hiring a Full Time K/1 Grade Teacher. A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement is required.

The K/1 Grade Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging learning environment and delivering standards-aligned instruction across literacy, math, science, and social studies while encouraging curiosity and confidence at each child’s own pace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement.
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum and child development.
• Ability to develop engaging lessons promoting academic and social-emotional growth.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans for K/1.
• Create an inclusive, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and respect.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning using varied methods and monitor progress.
• Foster foundational literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and support school improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and concerns.
• Participate in IEP/504 and other student support meetings as required.
• Incorporate instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies.
