Lake Superior Academy in Sault Ste. Marie, MI is seeking a full-time K/1 Grade Teacher with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and the appropriate endorsement.

The role delivers standards-aligned instruction across literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies while promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in a Montessori-inspired, nature-based setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
• A master's degree is a plus.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with the appropriate elementary grade-level endorsement.
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, child development, and evidence-based instructional practices.
• Ability to develop engaging lessons that promote academic achievement and social-emotional development.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans for K/1.
• Create an inclusive, structured classroom environment promoting engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning using varied methods and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate academic records and use data to inform instruction.
• Foster foundational literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies skills.
• Establish effective classroom management and safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and support school improvement.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and concerns.
• Participate in IEP, Section 504, and other support meetings as required.
• Integrate instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
