Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Junior Custodian to join the Facilities Department at Fletcher Maynard Academy. This role involves cleaning, ground maintenance, and related duties across the school building and grounds.

The Junior Custodian reports to the Senior Building Custodian and supports a clean, safe learning environment for students and staff. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and operating cleaning equipment, with occasional weekend hours.

Competenze

• Mastery of core cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing) across diverse surfaces.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning tools and machinery (floor buffers, vacuums, power washers).
• Safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals per safety guidelines.
• Attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and high standards.
• Strong time management to organize daily tasks and cover shifts including weekends when required.
• Knowledge of occupational safety rules, including OSHA standards, to prevent accidents.
• Commitment to reliable performance and able to work with minimal supervision.

Mansioni

• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum and sanitize classroom and common areas.
• Maintain floors, walls, windows, fixtures and furnishings; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and snow/ice removal as required.
• Inspect facilities and submit work orders for maintenance needs.
• Display the U.S. flag and support safety procedures in the school.
