Malden Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Junior Custodian for Malden High School. The position operates from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, on a 52‑week schedule and falls under the SEIU contract.

The role emphasizes service to students, staff, and the community with hands-on cleaning and building maintenance duties. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, floor care, window and surface maintenance, and operation of grounds equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the principal, faculty, staff and the public.
• Perform cleaning, building maintenance and grounds work including floors; wash, wax, strip and refinish floors; clean windows, doors, furniture, desks and fixtures.
• Ensure routine cleanliness, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting for building needs during the shift.
• Maintain bathrooms and stock supplies; clean the cafeteria daily.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment; lift up to 50 lbs; assist with snow removal as needed.
• Work with safety procedures and assist in maintaining boilers, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Demonstrate punctuality and outstanding attendance; comply with supervisor directions.
