Job summary

Wasatch Behavioral Health is seeking a Full-Time Human Service Worker for the Receiving & Outreach Center (ROC) in Provo, Utah. The role focuses on supporting adults in crisis, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, and coordinating with therapists and the care team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required.
  • Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to adults experiencing mental health crises.
  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment for clients receiving crisis services.
  • Monitor client needs and communicate changes or concerns to therapists and other members of the treatment team.
  • Assist with daily routines and provide reassurance, encouragement, and emotional support.
  • Support clients while they receive mental health evaluations, consultations, and crisis interventions.
  • Collaborate with therapists, peer support specialists, law enforcement, and other community partners as needed.
  • Assist with transitions and referrals to appropriate ongoing treatment or higher levels of care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow agency safety and confidentiality standards.

Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Human Service Worker with our Receiving & Outreach Center (ROC) in Provo, Utah! This rewarding opportunity offers a competitive wage of $17.50–$22.17/hour and the chance to support adults experiencing mental health crises in our community. ROC provides immediate access to mental health evaluations, consultations, and crisis support for individuals across Utah and Wasatch Counties. As a Human Service Worker, you'll work alongside master-level therapists and peer support specialists in a fast-paced, supportive environment while helping maintain safety, provide compassionate support, and connect clients with appropriate services.

Schedule: Variable shifts & hours (Additional schedule details will be provided during the interview process)

Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE

What You'll Do as a Human Service Worker

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
