Job summary

Amedisys is hiring a Hospice Aide to join our home-based care team in Sioux Falls. This full-time day position focuses on compassionate, in-home support for patients and families.

You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and homemaking while following a nurse's plan of care and documenting changes in patient status. Reliable transportation and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant per state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to care tasks such as ambulation, transfers, ROM and positioning, and housekeeping.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient's status; reports to the primary nurse when needed.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
