Job summary

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for full-time field work in the Shelby area. You will provide therapy under the direction of a physical therapist, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery.

The role requires PTA graduation, current Alabama PTA licensure, and CPR certification. Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills are essential to manage home visits and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited PTA program.
• Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist per plan of care.
• Communicates regularly with patient and caregiver about the plan of care.
• Delivers skilled therapy services and procedures as appropriate for patient safety and care.
• Reports observations to supervisor or physician in a timely manner.
• Educates patients and caregivers on safe use of prosthetic and assistive devices.
• Educates on rehabilitation techniques and carryover for recovery.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team on discharge planning.
