Responsibilities

• Performs tissue description, dissection, and sectioning for diagnostic evaluation of small skin specimens.
• Reviews specimens for completeness and accuracy, including site and patient identification.
• Selects appropriate processing times and procedures for tissues.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems in the gross area.
• Performs maintenance and quality control on instruments.
• Makes the work area safe and compliant with SOPs.
• Monitors supply and inventory and supports QA/QC policies.
