Job summary

Ashland University Bookstore is seeking a dependable food service teammate to prepare ala carte breakfast and lunch for students, staff, and guests, set up stations, and transition from breakfast to lunch service. You will maintain clean stations and support Grubhub and in-house orders.

You will also assist with monthly inventory, monitor stock rotation, operate registers, and uphold Ohio food-safety standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills are expected.
• Basic understanding of inventory and stock management is required.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ala carte breakfast and lunch items for students, staff, and guests.
• Set up breakfast station for the day and transition to lunch efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized station throughout service.
• Stock station and prep additional items as needed.
• Maintain orders from Grubhub as well as in-house orders.
• Assist in monthly inventory counting and monitor stock rotation.
• Operate registers and take orders in a timely manner.
• Assist with monthly inventory for cost of goods.
• Maintain high levels of sanitation following Ohio food safety codes.

• Set up breakfast station for the days orders and efficiently transition to lunch.
• Maintain a clean and organized station throughout service.
• Stock station and prep additional items as needed.
• Maintain orders from Grubhub as well as in-house orders.
• Assist in monthly Inventory counting and monitor stock rotation and expiration to minimize waste.
• Ability to operate registers and take orders in a timely manner.
• Assist with monthly inventory for cost of goods.
• Maintain high levels of sanitation following the Ohio Revised Code for food safety.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Basic understanding of inventory and stock management.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Safety certified.
• Previous work in a high volume environment.

Physical Demands

• Area can be hot and fast paced.
• Bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more.
