Job summary

UPMC Passavant is seeking a Grill Cold Cook to prepare, cook, and serve a variety of grilled and cold food items while upholding strict food safety, sanitation, and guest service standards. You will contribute to a collaborative kitchen team and support patient and guest dining experiences.

Responsibilities include labeling and dating items, recording temperatures, restocking, and assisting with next-day prep in a fast-paced hospital environment. Culinary basics and a team mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or kitchen environments preferred.
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Willingness to lift 5–25 lbs and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

As a Grill Cold Cook, you’ll prepare, cook, and serve a variety of grilled and cold food items while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.

Your Day May Include

• Preparing fresh food for cafeteria guests and patient meal trays
• Providing friendly, attentive service
• Staying active in a fast‑paced kitchen environment (lifting 5–25 lbs)
• Supporting operations through restocking, prep work, temperature checks, and cleaning
  

Schedule:

• Every other weekend & holidays
• Shifts between 5:00 AM–8:30 PM
  

What You’ll Do

• Prep, cook, and serve menu items
• Label, date, and complete temperature documentation
• Deliver excellent service to guests, patients, and staff
• Restock stations and assist with next‑day preparation
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned
