Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dockworker to load and unload freight, operate forklifts and hand trucks, and support warehouse operations. You’ll use standard procedures to secure loads and ensure timely deliveries across our network.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork as you handle various freight movement tasks and comply with DOT guidelines in a fast-paced service center environment.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must have working knowledge of freight movement processes and forms such as shipping orders and freight bills.
• Ability to operate a handheld tablet and use yard management systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Move freight safely throughout the service center.
• Read shipping labels and complete required freight movement forms as needed.
• Secure payloads inside trailers with straps and airbags.
• Ensure quality loading and prevent damage during transport.
