Experience teachingcomposition is especially desirable, as composition will constitutea significant portion of the selected candidate's teaching load.Courses offered in multiple modalities, including online andin-person.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment toexcellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and theeffective use of technology to improve student learning outcomes.Faculty responsibilities include participating in professionaldevelopment and assessment activities, attending faculty andcommittee meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. Thisis an on‑site position requiring regular campus presence andavailability to teach in person. The English faculty member reportsto the Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping,and compliance with legal and institutional obligations.Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standardsoftware, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate.Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation andrespect for diversity of people, styles, and views:

• Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in one'sinstruction to a diverse student population with various learningstyles and abilities.
• Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upondisciplinary knowledge, skills, research, and applications todesign engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours at times ofday convenient for students.
• Providing meaningful feedback, and timely responses tostudents' work and questions.
• Meeting all division, department, and college deadlines:
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance andreporting attendance as required:
• Keeping careful grade records throughout the academicterm:
• Attending scheduled faculty meetings and trainingsessions:
• Perform ongoing student, program, and college assessmentactivities, including analysis of course assessments, evaluations,and data to engage in continuous improvement to enhance studentsuccess, retention, and completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MA in English (including Literature and/or Creative Writing)or
• At least 18 hours of approved coursework in English (includingLiterature and/or Creative Writing)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching first- and second-year students inComposition 1 and 2, particularly those in community college,developmental, or secondary education settings.
• Experience using a Learning Management System (Canvas,Blackboard, etc.).
• Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are QualityMatters (QM) certified

Salaries:

Instructor $60,076; Assistant Professor $66,178;Associate Professor $72,753 - Rank will be assessed at the time ofhire based on years of experience and education based onpre-determined criteria.
