St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to applyfor the Full-Time Faculty position in Psychology to begin Fall2027 for the 2027-2028 academic year. This positionwill be responsible for teaching and developing psychology courses. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including onlineand in-person. The successful candidate will have a strongcommitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment,and the use of technology in the delivery of instructionto improvestudent learning outcomes. The successful candidate willparticipate in professional development, engage in assessmentactivities, attend faculty and committee meetings, and performother duties as assigned. The position is an on-site positionrequiring campus presence. The Psychology faculty reports to theDean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping,and compliance with legal and institutional obligations. Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standardsoftware, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate. Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation andrespect for diversity of people, styles, and views:

• Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instructionof psychology to a diverse student population with various learningstyles and abilities.
• Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upondisciplinary knowledge, skills, theories, issues, research, andapplications to design engaging and effective learningexperiences.
• Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours at times ofday convenient for students.
• Providing meaningful feedback, and timely responses tostudents' work and questions.
• Meeting all division, department, and college deadlines:
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance andreporting attendance as required:
• Keeping careful grade records throughout the academicterm:
• Attending scheduled faculty meetings and training sessions:
• Perform ongoing student, program, and college assessmentactivities, including analysis of course assessments, evaluations,and data to engage in continuous improvement to enhance studentsuccess, retention, and completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree in Psychology or related field or
• At least 18 hours of successful coursework in psychology.
• Teaching and or Professional practice/work-experience inpsychology or closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
• Community College teaching experience
• Expertise using a Learning Management System such as Canvas andusing technology to enhance student learning.
• Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are QualityMatters (QM) certified:

• Instructor $60,076
• Assistant Professor $66,178
• Associate Professor $72,753
• Rank will be assessed at the time of hire based on years of experience and education based on predetermined criteria.
