Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a full-time custodian to handle advanced cleaning tasks across indoor and outdoor areas of the community. You will inspect work, report to management, and perform a variety of cleaning duties including floor care, carpet extraction, window cleaning, and event setup.

Qualifications

• Prev custodial experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work performed and submit reports to Manager/Supervisor.
• Strip and wax floors and extract carpets as needed.
• Sweep, mop, shampoo, dust, polish, trash disposal, replace light bulbs and window cleaning.
• Inform Supervisor of needed supplies.
• Maintain cleaning solutions per OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
• Remove trash and assist in emergency cleaning.
• Set up and break down tables/chairs for events in clubhouse/outdoors.
• Maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
• Maintain sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
• Inspect areas daily and report discrepancies to Supervisor.
• Ensure security procedures are followed at all times.
• Follow safety precautions while performing work.
• Maintain relationship with building staff.
• Complete special cleaning projects weekly/monthly/yearly as directed.
• Maintain room inspection and monthly work logs.
• Keep equipment in good working condition.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, organized.
• Cleans restrooms as applicable: floors, dispensers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, trash.
