Job summary

Good Samaritan in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Activities Assistant to enrich residents' lives through group and one-on-one activities, including music, crafts, and spiritual programs. The role supports nursing staff and helps execute the monthly activity calendar.

Full time position 36 hours weekly; shift is 12:00 pm–8:30 pm with every 5th weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k), PTO, and education sponsorship.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience in social services or creative activities preferred.
Experience in geriatrics preferred.
Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics.

Responsibilities

Strives to improve the quality of life for residents by providing meaningful activities one-on-one and in groups.
Administers the monthly activity calendar and coordinates activities.
Engages residents in music, crafts and spiritual activities and supports dignity and identity.
Assists with simple nursing procedures and transporting residents; may assist with MDS processes.
