Job summary

Good Samaritan in Park River, ND is seeking a full-time Activities Counselor to enhance the quality of life for residents through planned activities and individual interactions. The role includes administering the monthly activity calendar, organizing music, crafts, and spiritual activities, and supporting residents with dignity and personalized care.

Qualified candidates may have CNA certification or be enrolled in a healthcare program; BLS is required, and CPR training may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in social services or creative activities is preferred.
• Geriatrics knowledge is desirable.
• CNA certification or current enrollment in a healthcare program preferred.
• BLS certification required; CPR training may be required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer the monthly activity calendar in one-on-one or group settings.
• Engage patients/residents in activities to support dignity and identity.
• Assist with simple nursing procedures and transport as needed.
• Support documentation in MDS/EPIC systems and maintain clear communication.
• Demonstrate leadership and ability to motivate residents and handle challenging behaviors.
