Job summary

Vanguard College Prep invites a full-time English educator to inspire high school students preparing for ACT/SAT, focusing on core skills and individualized growth.

You will teach small groups, monitor progress within Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum, and develop engaging lesson plans while maintaining professionalism and organization. Benefits and a dynamic startup-like environment are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in humanities (US Schools) required.
• Teaching English and/or college-level writing center experience (1+ years).
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA).
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Office and G-Suites; reliable internet and quiet workspace.
• Commitment to hours of operations: Mon and Fri closed; Tue–Thu 1:30pm–9:30pm CST; Sat–Sun 9:30am–5:30pm CST.

Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire small groups of students in English core skills.
• Track students’ progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.
• Manage and model professional behavior and organized communication.
• Innovate by developing evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor students through the college application process.
