Job summary

Food Lion in Montpelier, VA is seeking a DSD Receiving Clerk to ensure proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery products and maintain standard practices for accuracy, shrink reduction, and timely promotions. You will collaborate with the Assistant Store Manager, handle vendor issues, verify invoices, and uphold Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines while wearing the Food Lion uniform.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Protect company assets through the proper and accurate receipt and return of DSD product.
• Demonstrate and execute proper vendor receiving policies established by Food Lion.
• Work with vendors to resolve vendor errors, policy violations or excessive inventory.
• Work with the Assistant Store Manager to ensure timely promotions by all vendors.
