Job summary

Solon Pointe is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook / Prep Cook to join our team in Solon, Ohio. This role focuses on preparing meals tailored to resident dietary needs and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen within a long-term care setting.

You’ll work with the Dietary Manager and team to provide flavorful, nutritious meals and to follow recipes, schedules, and safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and holiday coverage is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or food preparation experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care, healthcare, or institutional kitchen settings is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices required.
• Reliable, positive, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and resident dietary needs.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and meal service.
• Follow recipes, production sheets, and special diet requirements.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served safely and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and other dietary department duties as needed.
• Work closely with the Dietary Manager and dietary team to provide excellent service to residents
